I write things. Sometimes memoir. Sometimes fiction. Either way, I seek to explore the profane in our everyday lives and expose the dangerous beauty in broken people and things. I like the sordid side of human behavior – addiction, infidelity, lust, greed, gluttony. My characters, which often include myself, struggle with issues of personal identity and acceptance… of themselves… who they are… why they do the things they do.
I want us all to feel less alone.
I believe we create ourselves through the stories we tell. I like to think of my stories as "prose songs," specifically Blues jams. Like Blues, my stories talk about sadness, but they aren't sad.
I've had my work published by The Doctor T. J. Eckleburg Review, Filthy Gorgeous Things, Writer Unboxed, Crate, and others.
I take photos every day. A good many of these photos are of my dogs.
Living with canines has helped me be a better human.
I tweet every day about a broad range of important topics, from the ontological meaning of dog poop bags to the erotic potential of red velvet cake. Please join me.
I grew up in Texas, but I currently live and write, which are the same thing, in Northern New Jersey.
I call Washington DC home.
Usually, you can find me driving my pick-up around the Garden State with my dog Honey in the passenger seat and the other, Rothko, on the floor behind me.
